Goal
In the making of Skyview Cave, I took a prompt to create the level based on the concept, "A young man loses his mother and sister and must find them", set it in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
I needed to make a short but enticing experience, but most of all, I had to make it feel like a level right out of Skyrim itself.
Process
Planning
First, I had to develop a story surrounding the level, as well as define the goal and any unique mechanics, items, or encounters.
Documenting & Mapping
Next up was to make a clear and effective level map that made for an easy guide. Then, put that together with the previous documentation to serve as reference.
Prototyping
Lastly, making the level prototype. Using Unreal 4 geometry brushes, I crafting a simple but compelling mock-up of how the level would be laid out.

Result
All of this came together to create a level that I believe would fit perfectly within the game of Skyrim, as an add-on, or possible part of a multi-perspective DLC. In making this level I furthered pushed my typical streamlined process for level design, achieving a blend of my own creativity alongside attentiveness to the lore and design style of another game.
